Southern Pacific locomotive built by the General Electric Co. in Erie, PA. Taken at the Roper Yards of the D.&R.G.W. in South S.L.C. The Rio Grande Industries parent co. of the D. &R.G.W. bought the Southern Pac. Transportation Co. on Oct. 13, 1988. Even before this the two companies had coordinated their train services on the Central U.S. Corridor. Taken in 1988. Donor and Photog: Mike B. Davis. |
