Peter Dillman's history states that the first log school was built 1878 near the center of what is now the Nathan C. Davis farm. William Britt was the first school teacher. Nathan Davis was emmently successful and accumlated a considerable amount of property. This is his home in the Ashley area of the Ashley Valley. After his death his property was divided among his children. |
