Description History: A 72-year-old man was referred with a rapidly proptosing right eye displaced inferiorly with an erythematous bulge in the medial aspect of the superior right orbit. Anatomy: Orbit; Frontal sinus. Disease Diagnosis: Mucocele. Presenting Symptom: Rapidly proptosing right eye displaced inferiorly with an erythematous bulge. Neuroimaging: axial CT scan of the large mucocele on the superior aspect of the right orbit emanating from the frontal sinus. The mucocele extending laterally in the orbit creating a slight defect in the lateral wall indicating its chronicity. Lower cut of an axial CT scan showing the bony defect in the mucocele adjacent to the lateral wall. MRI scan without contrast showing the mucocele protruding from the frontal sinus into the orbit. Treatment: Removal of the mucocele and extirpation of the sinus.
