Harold R. Waldo, Jr. (1928-1975) was a Salt Lake City attorney, a former Utah Assistant District Attorney, and a managing partner of the law firm of Jones, Waldo, Holbrook, and McDonough. Mr. Waldo joined Westminster College's Board of Trustees in 1970 and served until his death in April 1975. His father, H.R. Waldo, Sr. had earlier served for twenty-five (1950-1965) on the Westminster College Board of Trustees.

This collection consists of three letters and a single book honoring Westminster College Board of Trustee member, Harold R. Waldo, Jr. The book was compiled at Mr. Waldo's death in 1975 by his law firm to honor his life and then distributed to individuals and institutions that had worked with him.

The book contains a photograph of Mr. Waldo, a dedication, a copy of Waldo's obituary, copies of letters, resolutions, and other expressions of sympathy acknowledging his contribution to Utah and the law profession from the Utah State Legislature, Salt Lake County Commission, the Utah Supreme Court, the Salt Lake County Bar, the Utah State Bar, the First Presbyterian Church, and Westminster College's Board of Trustees.

Materials also includes three letters. The first (14 July 1975) is from Donald B. Holbrook, a partner in the law firm of Jones, Waldo, Holbrook, and McDonough, donating the book to Westminster College. The second (15 July 1975) from Westminster College President Manford Shaw acknowledges the gift. The final letter (29 August 1975) is from President Shaw to College Librarian Richard Wunder transferring the book to his custody and asking it be placed in the "permanent records of the library."
