Description Facial nerve denervation results in lagophthalmos, ectropion and brow ptosis. If persistent, chronic denervation leads to orbicularis atrophy with worsening of function and disfigurement. The goal of our ongoing study is to develop an implantable microstimulator that can reanimate denervated muscles.
