Subject |
Land use; Regional planning |
Description |
The Regional Land Use Study is intended to address some of the major regional growth management issues facing the St. Lucie and Martin County study area, identify possible courses of action, and set a regional framework for improved coordination of land use and transportation decisions. To support that objective, the study completes the following tasks: (1) an inventory and analysis of vacant land and potential redevelopment areas in the urban service area to accommodate the area's projected population in 2025; (2) an analysis of market demand, alternative regional development patterns, and land use scenarios to identify an effective way to manage that growth; (3) identification of transportation projects and their costs to support future land use recommendations; and (4) a framework for moving forward with the recommended plan. |
