Description |
Many children in the foothills of Blue Mountain attended the Twin Wash School. The school was located close to Twin Wash behind a little reef between Dinosaur and Pop's Place. It began about 1927. The school served the people of Massadona and over as far as the K Ranch. In 1941-1942, the school was moved to Pop's Place on Willow Creen and in 1943-1944 the only students left were the Pierre Morgan children, Ellen and Tommy, so it was moved to a bedroom in the Morgan home at the K Ranch. The following year, the Rangley oil boom caused many people to move to Artesia (Dinosaur) increasing the number of teachers to two and an enrollment of 75 students. Blue Mountain Book pages 615-618 |
