The connecting of the trans-continental telegraph wires took place on Main Street, Salt Lake City. This was the first telegraph office located just north of the First Security Bank on the northeast corner of the 100 South and Main Street (not to be confused with the Deseret Telgraph office located on South Temple, east of Main Street.) |
