| Description |
Adrienne Scott-Ellis discusses her background growing up as an African American woman in Utah, and current issues with the Davis School district and racism. She discusses the positive impact of having an African American teacher when she was in Elementary school. She discusses her history teaching for 30 years and the impact of social distancing on her students when the pandemic first started. Scott-Ellis founded a community garden to encourage socialization among children during the pandemic, but ended up struggling with a lack of support for the effort despite all the enrichment it was offering. She talks about her move to Clinton, UT and her feelings about the George Floyd protests, and the impact of her new community garden. |
