Description |
The "Hole-in-the-Rock" where in 1879 a party of 200 Mormons crossed the Colorado on their way southeast to settle the town of Bluff. Bringing their wagons and oxen through the "Hole-in-the-Rock" and down to and across the Colorado required superhuman effort. A bronze plaque telling of the incident is in the stone immediately under the man in the photo. From: PID Collection. |
