Description |
Dr. A.L. Inglesby and Wallace Bransford on first trip to Grand Canyon. From the Inglesby Collection, donated by Mrs. H.R. Waldo. Pope Hartford approximately 1907. March 14, 1908. Up Weber Canyon. Pope-Toledo Auto traveling with the Herald Pierce Arrow Pilot Car in the New York - Paris race gets stuck this (Ogden) side of Peterson. Farm boy and his horse were required to get them out. Behind wheel is Lee Moore of Salt Lake City. Others are Frank Southern and W.D. Rishel of Salt Lake Herald. Took three hours to get from Peterson to Morgan. Used in U.H.S. Newsletter, Vol. 21-5 (1971). |
