Description |
A United States Air Force Minuteman intercontinental ballistic missile is shown here being launched for the first time from the Air Force missile test center at Cape Canaveral. The first firing of America's newest ICBM was a "complete success" when all three stages fired and re-entry vehicle landed in the target area. The Minuteman missiles will be "at-the-ready" in underground silos and placed aboard special railroad trains traveling at random around the United States rail network.
