Portrait of Ray Reynolds as soldier in France during World War I. Note the bandage on the little finger of Ray's right hand. Ray said he was wounded while lying on the ground during a shelling attack when a bullet glanced off his helmet, striking his finger. Ray was born in 1890, the son of William Reynolds, owner of the first flour mill in Vernal. He was a lifelong bachelor, farmer, and "quite a good fellow." |
