Description Correspondence, orders, reports and the rolls of the Nauvoo Legion Utah Battalion of Life Guards. This unit was on guard at all times and received orders from the territorial govenor, including Govenor Brigham Young. These papers include orders to deal with Indian raids and disturbances throughout Utah County and also along the areas with Mormon settlements as far as California (1850). This was an company of life guards organized in 1852. The Units often referred to themselves as the Rangers or the Minutement
