Description |
"Covid Prom; David & Tirza were just entering the final term of their Junior Year when Covid-19 suddenly shut down schools. Like all Utah high school students, they helplessly accepted that this meant no end-of-year programs, no spring sports, no year-book signing, no traditional finals (yay?), and no Prom.; As the first weeks of at-home isolation began, we fell into a routine of our at-home team. We felt like the psychological health of being able to see your high-school sweetheart was important, so both families shared their quarantine safety plan and agreed that David & Tirza could continue to see each other with safety precautions for both families in place. This helped, but the emotional toll of being separated from their school friends and activities was evident.; The parents got together and threw a private "Covid Prom" in the backyard. The dress & suit that had already been purchased were put to good use as the couple were surprised by a dinner of take-out from their favorite restaurants served on the backyard patio, a question/answer game to know (more) fun things about each other and a fully decorated dance floor in the living room complete with streamers and DJ quality speakers for dance music.; Covid Prom never looked so good!" |
