Description |
Persistent shortages of nurse faculty and scientists drive options for PhD and postdoctoral training that allow nurses to educate in place, yet access research foci that are geographically inaccessible to them. Originally funded by the National Cancer Institute and the John A. Hartford Foundation, the University of Utah implemented distance research training nearly15 years ago. Innovations in distance research education were designed to achieve quality standards of national organizations (CGS, AACN,NIH, and NAS). We have summarized the innovations into the "five rights" of the Utah Model for predocs and postdocs. |
