My dear companion: Selected letters of Heber C. and Vilate Kimball

My object in editing these letters is not to give a full account of the lives of either Heber or Vilate, nor is it to render an account of the early history of the Church. Rather, it is my intent to make the contents of these particular letters available to the Kimball family and those interested in the lives of the founding fathers and mothers of the Church. My purpose in doing so rests in the conviction that Heber and Vilate's own words--as they were actually written--provide a unique view of their time, their lives, and their personalities.
