Description An explosion at Western Petroleum caused $14,000 damage. A welder was working in the building on a trailer containing crude oil when sparks ignited the oil fumes. Mervin Slaugh, Lile Hunting, Eldon White and R.J. (Butch) Kay were in the building and narrowly escaped serious injury. The business was owned by Alvin Kay.
