Description |
A broken water main Thursday, Aug.9, 1962 flooded the west end of the Capitol basement. Photos by Bruce Phillips. At first the water was picked up by shovels and buckets, then dumped in oil drums, but by noon, a gasoline pump was committed to the battle and most of the remaining water was flushed out of the building. These pictures show installation of the pump. |
