Description |
Purpose: The purpose of this project is to improve psychological safety by creating and implementing an active core values practice. Background: This project was created in response to the 2021 and 2022 WAGGL survey results showing low levels of psychological and high levels of burnout throughout the division. The 2022 WAGGL survey questions showed 50% of faculty and 54% of staff feel psychologically safe and can express their opinions without fear of retribution. The questions around burnout showed a score of 24% for faculty and 23% for staff, meaning 76% of faculty and 77% of staff feel burnout is a problem for them. 33% of faculty and 46% of staff feel like they have control over their workload. Additionally, 57% of faculty and 69% of staff feel their input is sought, heard, and considered. Objectives: Seek input on each person's top core values. Summarize and tally results. Present the top core values for the family medicine division. Present the top core values for individual clinics. Each month, choose one core value to present and discuss at the individual clinic-lead meetings and at the family medicine division meetings. Evaluate impact and individual's usability and satisfaction via follow-up survey. Setting: The Division of Family and Preventive Medicine (DFPM) at the University of Utah, Sugar House Health Center's Family Clinic (SHHCFC), and Madsen Family; Health Center (MFHC). Participants: All providers in the family medicine division of DFPM, all providers and staff at MFHC and SHHCFC. Results & Conclusions: Data gathering is ongoing, results from a follow-up survey will be analyzed and conclusions will be made. Future Implications: Larger dissemination to all DFPM, potential for future use in other divisions at the University of Utah. |
