Description |
And now we seem to have a resurgence of hatred in this country and a backlash at all the ideals that were espoused in the not too distant past. Violence and aggression are on the rise with the majority of their victims being women and now also children. And thus my interest in domestic violence is a very personal one. Nowhere more than in our family settings are we socialized to hold the values that we end up putting into practice. If we can confront and change this violence and aggression in our domestic situation then perhaps this will make a more lasting and profound societal difference. And finally the dreams of a 'free country' can come closer to being a reality for all of us. These are some of the reasons I have written this paper. |
