Description |
There are many aspects of existentialism in the animal rights movement. This thesis discusses the connections between animal rights activism and an existential world view, in particular the underlying philosophical assumptions and psychological motivations of the animal rights activist as well as the blatant existentialist rhetoric in animal rights literature. In the course of this discussion, it was necessary to develop the classical and existential world views from which the animal rights movement arose. I have attempted to present these ideas as non-technically as possible. |
