| Description |
Pharmacologic pupil dilation is a very common procedure performed by ophthalmologists during routine eye examinations. Rare, but serious, cardiovascular side effects of mydriatic drops have been reported, particularly in children and in elderly with compromised health. Neurotoxicity of mydriatic drops is lesser known. There are no current studies regarding dilating drops and their effect on patients cognitive functions including memory, attention, concentration, and orientation. |
