Description |
Dippy the Diplodocus dinosaur spends his first winter in the snow. The Carnegie offered the molds to the museum if they would pay the shipping. The Lions Club raised the money for the shipping. Gerald and Billie Untermann along with Grant Merrell cleaned and prepared the casting. During a three year period they assembled and erected the 700 concete casts. The sketeton is 76 feet long and weighs 30 tons. It was dedicated in July of 1957. The Uintah County building and the doughboy is in the background. |
