Utah dominated the women's shot put event; taking four of the top-five finishes. Senior Candice Workman-Ekberg led the team, taking gold with an impressive 49' 0.75" distance. Her performance is not only a new personal record for the Utah State transfer, but also an indoor school record. Junior AJ Roby finished third (41' 11.50"), newcomer Nicole Farnsworth finished fourth (41' 9.75") and sophomore Sarah Romig rounded of the top five (38' 11.00"). Sophomore Amada Feigt insured another successful season by finishing second in the long jump with 19" 8.25". Her performance marked Utah's second school record-setting effort of the day. Junior Nikki Mancinelli also finished second in her event. The Oklahoma City, Okla., native finished with a 5' 4.25" height in the long jump. |
