Description BACKGROUND: There are populations in our communities that have limited access on dental care. The populations most likely to find themselves in the position of not being able to find access and connections to dental services are those of low socio-economic status. In the west part of Salt Lake City Valley these populations are most likely to consist of refugees and immigrants. The community leaders in University Neighborhood Partners at Hartland Partnership Center identified this need within their community. METHODS: In order to facilitate the initial connection between community and dental services for the community at Hartland Partnership Center, information about dental services was collected in the area. About 30 places were visited and surveyed on information such as location, hours of operation, specific services, their cost, their availability to accept federal assistance programs and if they offered free or special prices for those in low income households. RESULTS: After offices were visited, it was found that there are almost no free services offered, discounted services are extremely limited and in high demand. Quality of work could not be determined, but prices given so that way residents will have an idea of the costs of different services among other specific information.
