Description Through this paper I will examine our current system of health care delivery, its evolution, its inherent problems, and two different attempts to deal with the problem of escalating health care costs. One attempt has been made in Massachusetts. They recently passed a law which will provide health insurance for all the state's citizenry. The other attempt has been made by the Canadian government. They have set up a universal system of health care which not only has become the most popular social welfare program in that country, but also seems very effective at providing equal access to care for all its citizens. In the concluding section, some possible solutions to our country's health care problems will be examined, based upon the current system in our country and the two other systems evaluated.
