interior; view facing the altar, scenes from the life of St. Peter, with Masaccio's "Tribute Money" in the upper left; the icon above the altar was in the church by 1315 CE and moved into the chapel by 1422 CE; most of the frescoes were painted by Masaccio and Masolino between 1424-27, others were finished by Filippino Lippi in the early 1480s. |
