Laptops - Mark Fowles (School of Business) The School of Business provides MBA students laptops that are pre-configured and are supported by School of Business. Students own the laptops (or will) and have full admin rights. There is a contract with a use agreement. SoB does purchase accidental damage coverage. Laptops are actually property of the U until the students graduate - some software licensed to the U is on the laptops until the student graduates when they are asked to remove it. Sales tax is paid at graduation by the student. The program is funded through student fees as part of the MBA program. Backups are responsibility of the student. Illegal software and downloads (images, etc) have not been an issue, but SoB has not been actively looking for them either. Will reimage in most cases where there are issues. They are trying to do more with patches, updates, etc.
