Description |
The study reported here was conducted at the University of Utah Newborn Intensive Care Unit from July, 1977 to July, 1978. The team conducting the study consisted of Dr. August L. Jung, Director, University of Utah ICU; Thomas Coleman, social worker; Ms. Gail Gibbs, social work student; Dr. D. James Croft, Associate Professor of Management; and Lyman Marsh, the author of this project summary. Ms. Gibbs concentrated her study on the social impact of premature birth on the families studied, and the author concentrated on the financial aspects of these births. Much of the work was a team effort and many of the conclusions are joint conclusions and will be presented as such. |
