Wawrzusin, MD, Gaurav Srivastava, MD, Nicole M. Sakla, DO A 27-year-old woman is diagnosed with and treated for multiple sclerosis when she presents with ataxia, vomiting, dysphagia, slurred speech, left sided weakness, and diplopia. A few years later, she develops papilledema. This led to neuro-ophthalmic consultation, which uncovered markedly elevated spinal fluid protein and diffusely enlarged eye muscles. These features led to a new neurologic diagnosis and an underlying systemic disease being uncovered, with new treatment regimens applied.
