Management specialists new and better ways to; student of music who is are continually searching for teach management methods. As a planning on continued study in economics and organizational behavior, I chose to combine these areas in my senior project. The musical concepts of harmony, performance as an organization, cooperation between individuals and the use of a pre-conceived plan of events make music an excellent vehicle for teaching principles and concepts project, of management. As a major component of this I presented a workshop in which a string quartet was used to demonstrate various problems in organizational; behavior in combination with a discussion of the principles and activities which could be used to solve them. Feedback from the audience indicated that this musical presentation was an effective means of demonstrating certain management concepts. This paper summarizes the workshop presentation and then explores some of the possible uses of music as a metaphor for management. |
