This is an official Olympic memorabilia from the 2002 Winter Olympic Games. This is a plush toy of the official Olympic mascot Coal. Coal, the black bear is wearing a red mittens with a hockey stick and ice skates. Coal, named after a natural resource important to Utah's economy, survival, and history. Local American Indians respected and revere bears for the mystery of hibernation, and this gave them the illusion of immortality. Coal represents the word Stronger in the Olympic motto "Faster, Higher, Stronger." |
