Account of murder of William Bailey Lake by Indians near present-day Pocatello, Idaho, while returning to Utah in 1858 from Salmon River Mission. Evans, an attorney in Idaho Falls, supplied information based on notes taken during conversation with Lake's grandson, Joseph A. Taylor. Account was presumably written for someone in Historian's Office in response to newspaper story and incorrectly gives Lake's name as T. Bailey Lake. |
