Utah Power & Light constructed the El Monte substation near the mouth of Ogden Canyon, on the northeast side of Ogden, Utah, in 1964 to provide a supplementary power source for the area. It cost more than $700,000, it receives power at 138,000 volts, and reduces it to 44,000 volts |
