Description Tuesday, May 4, starting between 8 and 9 a.m., University of Utah Hospital cardiologists will implant, as part of a clinical study, a new device to treat patients with congestive heart failure (inability of a weakened heart muscle to pump sufficiently), but who also are at significant risk for sudden cardiac death due to irregular heart beat. It is anticipated that news media representatives will be able to watch the implant in the hospital's catheterization laboratory.
