Abstract US Army Foot Soldier's personal photograph of unfinished pontoon bridge crossing the Rhine River in April 1945. The pontoon bridges were built using small boats hooked together side by side. These temporary bridges had to be built since the Germany Army destroyed many bridges to prevent advancing Allied forces.
