Title Constraint driven synthesis of hardware design
Date 1983-08
Description Design synthesis (or Synthetic Design) is an attractive alternative to manual design, due to the obvious benefits of decreased development time and correctness by construction. Unfortunately, the price for this automation has frequently been inefficient designs and a narrow range of application. The Constraint Driven Synthesis (CDS) system attempts to overcome these disadvantages by utilizing constraints at all stages in the design process, concentrating efficiency decisions in the structural design layer, and by not imbedding architectural biases into the model.
