Stain: Azan. Centrally light-stained elastic cartilage (4). Lingual side (2) is covered with squamous epithelium. At the laryngeal side (1) the squamous epithelium usually turns into respiratory epithelium with seromucous laryngeal glands (5). Note also lymphoid aggregations in this area (3 →). |
