Abstract Jerry Anderegg attended Highland, East, and Olympus High Schools in Salt Lake City, where he participated in ski racing and climbing. His friends included Rick Reese, Dave Wood and Dick Wallin. After his LDS mission to Germany, he was no longer interested in climbing, but turned to skiing and family. He discusses climbing in the Wasatch range, the evolution in gear, the Alpenbock Club, early skiing at Ecker's Hill, and the local attitude toward mountaineering. Outdoor Recreation Project.
