Description Taihe Hall Square. Forbidden City. Taihe, Zhonghe and Bache are the Three Great Halls of the Forbidden City. They are built on a seven-meter high common podium finished in white marble. Both the balustrades and steps are finely decorated with bas-relief. Taihe Hall was rebuilt during the 34th year of the reign of Kang Xi (1695). Nine bays wide and 35.05 meters high, it is the largest building in the Forbidden City.
