He congratulated Madsen on his appointment [as director], then goes on to give a report of recent acquisitions and planned acquisitions for the Middle East Library. Among other things, he reports on acquiring the collection of Ahamd Zaki Abu Shadi through his connections to the late poet's family, and on his hopes to procure the Martin Levey collection for $10,000 |
