Pages 1 and 2) A two-page typewritten letter from Dr. Atiya to Professor John H. Mueller at Indiana University in Bloomington, dated October 17, 1956. Dr. Atiya is responding to Mueller's letter of October 12, and confirms his acceptance of the Patten Scholarship (lectureship) for 1957. Dr. Atiya provides some details for the lectures to be given and also a subsequent publication by the Indiana University Press. Dr. Atiya expresses his thanks, as well as the following sentiment about his visit to the campus, "I pray that it may be of some service to Indiana, to the humanities, and perhaps to the cause of peace and goodwill between these two sections of the human race" |
