Title Scholarly communication and the changing landscape of scholarship
Date 2003
Description This presentation will cover the changes that are occurring within scholarship, the relationship they have with scholarly communication, and the role of libraries in this evolving landscape. It will discuss initiatives that the University of Washington (UW) libraries is pursuing with regard to scholarly communication and support models for new scholarship, and will talk about how the UW is creating programs to combine the new kinds of scholarship with the new concepts, strategies, models, and technologies that have developed. The emergence of new forms of scholarship and strategies such as institutional repositories can be seen as falling under the larger umbrella of scholarly communication, which will be an overarching theme of this presentation.
