Japanese in Utah

Here are some more pictures showing the Japanese residents of the Tooele Smelter Camp. I thought this picture "A" of the Isseis posed for baseball action quite interesting. My father whose hobby was photography took this picture about 1917 or 1918. The second picture "B" shows the smelter camp residents getting ready to participate in a Fourth of July parade and celebration that was being held in Tooele City. The camp was some miles away from the city proper and close to the smelter. Note the Isseis in white -- hat, shirt, pants and even shoes. Note also the Japanese flag displayed along with the American Flag and my father's car decorated patriotically for the occasion. He took this picture also.
