Description Men posing outside of The Combination: Billiard Pool and Sample Rooms, Wines Liquors and Cigars building at Corinne, Utah. Corinne was established as an anti-Mormon or "Gentile" settlement, determined to overcome the dominate religious influence in Utah. The origin of its name varies from it being named after General Partrick E. Connor, commanding officer at Fort Douglas, to it being named after a well-known actress, Corinne LaVaunt. Despite thriving plans of development, lasting growth in Corinne never occurred.
