Harry and Mary Ratliff Wedding Anniversary

Harry and Mary Ratliff were honored at their home in August 1953 for their 50th wedding anniversary. They were greeted by 75 guests. Seated from left are Jo Casada, Harry Ratliff, Bry and Beatrice Stringham, Elizabeth Manker and Margaret Francke. The couple were married in Colorado in August 1903. Harry came to Vernal in 1915 to inspect the town in preparation of building the Moffatt road. He was involved in the phosphate mining operation north of Vernal. Mary was involved in many women's clubs in the area. The couple purchased the Jake Workman home on Main Street. They remodeled the home and opened it up to teachers who needed a place to stay during the school year. Harry died September 20, 1956 and Mary died June 19, 1965..
