Description |
The confectionery was located between the Bank of Vernal and the Shamrock. It was first owned by the Calder family and called Calder's Confectionary. Bill Taylor bought it from the Calders. While he ran the business, Vilate Jensen worked for him. She appears in the photo. A Mr. Daily made the candy. The Stockman's Club was upstairs and Bill Taylor played a phonograph down in the confectionary. They said it drove them crazy and he wouldn't stop playing it. So some of the men snuck down and put coyote scent in the phonograph. They never could get the smell out and could no longer use the phonograph. |
