Description Color photograph. Navajo Rug Weaver. "Weaving is a year-round activity among Navajo women, adding much to the family's income. In warm weather the loom is moved outdoors or into a brush shade (summer hogan). No pattern is used, the design developing as the weaver proceeds with her work. Designs have little significance; they express the weaver's idea of the beautiful."
