Show MAP COLLECTION OF THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES CARTOGRAPHIC DIVISION This collection spans the years from 1860 to 1959. In the early years, until approximately 1870 there are only four kinds of maps. They show the extent of surveys at various times, the route of explorations and roads, townsite, and military post locations. After 1870 there are also a number of mining and geological survey maps. After 1870 there are maps of the various Ute Reservations. These are survey maps that primarily deal with the locations of the external boundaries of the reservations. They show no cultural features.
